Fights, Pranks, Careers, and Ice Cream

Well, it's official. I'm fighting with one of my best friends. For really no reason at all. It's very stupid, but I think you'll find that most things are.

But! My other friends and I are teaming up against one of the juniors in a prank war. :D It's going wonderfully. We're annoying him to death, too. But it's all fun and games, really. Harmless fun. Unless my friend decides to stab him with a silver dagger, which she very well might. You never know.

I've updated my career choice list! :D It's great; there's a total of five now, of which are the following:
1. Bio engineer
2. Nuclear engineer
3. Robotic engineer
4. Editor
5. Neurologist

They're a bit... odd, to say the least, but I'm passionate about every single one. I'd rather design the engine to a space shuttle (aerospace engineering) than be a singer (shudder). I can't sing for the life of me.

I've discovered a new passion for mint chocolate chip ice cream. It's delicious. I don't know why I never tried it before.

'ello sir. Care for a monkey?

Hey, guys. :D Glad to see you commenting. Especially James Kennedy. :D Really, thanks.

I'm aware it's been a long time, really am very sorry for that. I'm now a freshmen in high school, and I'm desperately trying to push away as much homework as I can, although it's really quite hard when your history teacher decides to assign a long test the day we get back from winter break. If anyone would like to take my religions test for me, I would be more than grateful. :P

So! It's the first day of 2011! A completely new year. Kind-of intimidating, isn't it? A whole year of your life, just lined up and waiting to happen. Or not. Who knows?

Well, I have to run. I still have to study Taoism and Hinduism. That's just bloody brilliant, isn't it? (note the sarcasm) See you.

PS: I'm still writing, if anyone's interested. Although considerably less since NaNo has ended. It's all very sad.

Vampires Suck. Particularly Meyer's.

I was in the bookstore one day, carelessly flipping through books in the Young Adult section, when I realized just how many books about vampires and vampire romances there are. This news hit me like a ton of bricks. Must everyone copy Stephanie Meyer and her horrible series?

Not that I really blame Twilight. Sure, it all started with Meyer's series and the wave of teenage fans she got, but it really isn't fair to dump the decline of the literary universe on her shoulders.

And no, this isn't a rant about Twilight, although I should stop before I actually start. This blog was supposed to be a list of some recent books I've read and their grades, and that is exactly what I intend to do. So, let's begin.

1) Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris : A

If you judge a book by it's title, then I won't blame you if you avoid this book at all possible costs. But it really is one of those books that once you start, you can't seem to stop. Don't run away from it's 500 word awesomeness, and try to get your hands on one as soon as possible.

2) The Order of Odd-Fish : A++++++

Maybe one of the best books I've ever read. Filled to the brim with enjoyable characters, action, mad villains and fairy tales come to life, this was an amazing book that I'd recommend even to the most critical eye.

3) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies : B

Halfway through with this one. I like it, it's generally easy to follow and relatively fun to read. It just gets confusing at some points, endless ramblings of Mr. Collins or what not.

4) Good Omens : A

Apocalypse. What's not to like?

5) The Palace of Mirrors : C

I don't like her style of writing. It's kind-of juvenile, in it's own way.

So ends the last of my recent reads. Recommendations for new ones are appreciated.

"The decline of literature indicates the decline of a nation."

Amen to that.

In which the Mad Hatter introduces herself

Hey! Some of you probably know me as bludragon525 on the wonderful website, Young Writers Society. Others as morpheus25 on an equally amazing site, Braingle. Most of you, however, know me as Zoe, the crazy girl singing Thriller in the park. This blog is a diary of my life, struggles, and any random thoughts that come wandering throughout the day (or night).

So,

I'm blu, and it's a pleasure to meet you. *holds hand out*

Other thoughts: NaNoWriMo's coming up! I'll keep you posted on that later. Possibly.
